Spring Bright Spots

Hey, haven't updated in awhile so I thought I should share...

I have completed my classes for this degree and am one exam away from having everything done. Thankfully, a little hard work at the start, put me in a great position to not have to stress over exams too much to maintain my high grade standards.

On Wednesday, I was taken out for dinner by the Purchasing-Management Association of Canada (Sudbury) at Dionysos (that Greek place downtown). It was part of the deal for winning their scholarship this year. So I got dinner and $750! Almost all of which went off to my lovely friends at VISA.

I also started training for my new job. I'm working as a Liaison representative for the University to do spring information visits at highschools in the province. So we're doing training and booking now, and in May I spend the month "on the road" doing the visits. I'm hoping to snag the Brampton/Mississauga corner - so I'll keep those of you in the area up to date. It's not the most exciting job but it pays well ($18.25/hr), I get free travel around the province, and a hefty per diem. Plus, it fits in with my schedule for this summer.

My acceptance was received by St. Mary's so that opportunity is one step closer to happening. And, I accepted the one-bedroom apartment offer from residence - so my living situation is sorted as well. Me, mom and tom will be taking a road trip to Halifax at the end of July to move me down. I'm starting to get mildly stressed about that part. But yesterday, mom bought me a new set of dishes because we found my dream dishes at Homesence. They are white, heavy and SQUARE - including the bowls. I love them!!!!

And that's the news from me. Lotsa fun stuff happening at the end of the year. But I hate getting up in the morning for work! cheers, Raye :)

McT Family Tree
Good morning to all, ain't it a heckuva fine morning?
THE landscapers came thru the co-op with leaf blowers,'n' rider mowers yesterday morn, and were just finishing up when I returned home at ten-thirtyish. Well, the robins and chickadoodles moved in with a vengeance, hunting all the little crawly things revealed in the strong spring sunshine. Winds are from the south, off the lake, lending a crispness to the gusts and sharpening the cool bite of shaded areas.
SPRING has sprung, the grass iz riz,
and I know where the birdies iz...
I hope to travel north to see Dad , depending on the whether. no typo, just a pun. I have had two
Physio sessions since my assessment last week, and I can now successfully pinch the GREEN alligator clip
all the way closed! I OWN the one pound weight class, yeah baby! I can lift a soupcan!Over My head!
AND thats not all! Yesterday I touched my right ear with my right hand! WOW! Kathy took care of my dressings and the infection has ,of course, disappeared completely. I am healing up quite nicely, but am
now dealing with the loss of mass and mobility in the arm and shoulder.
TAI CHI every morning and again in the afternoon, has started to show positive results in flexibility
and I am wearing my brace during all activity The surgeon proscribed two weeks" locked",the brace restricts and the restrictions are adjustable, and that is what is going to happen.I also got a good perspective about being too aggressive in my push to return to work from my Physio-Therapist "Allison".I am still working on that impulsive side... hhmmm. plus ca change, n'est pas?
KATHY has been finding work a little less tiring, on some levels ,since the floor was split. She just needs to sleep for about one month now, not two.We are dropping the loonies and twonies onto the piggybank for Holguin next season. It will be GREAT! no pesky kids to slow us down, lol.Kathy's gardens are all starting to
bloom, and we spent some time outdoors together this past weekend.
LYNDSAY has an important presentation today, walked out the door this am looking great and "on".
good Luck wishes to her are superfluous, she works so very consistantly at her goals.A

Saturday Night

Well, between "Harry Manx Live" on Jim Corcoran"s show and Holger Pedersen's show, I must say I am gettin' my fix.
the right hand has been swelling distal to the surgery each evening since Wed. Either somethin' let go or i am getting better-hmmm- I am inclined to the latter- I see the surgeon on Monday at 1:45 pm sowill post an update then.
Lyndsay and Jay attended an outdoor shinney game of NHL'ers at Copps Coliseum today. Meaghan' out with friends ,and Kath is still recovering from her bout with one of the major bugs making the rounds.
I walked from Younge and St. Clair to Union Station on Wed. ,did it in 1.5 hrs., c/w window shopping and rube-like gawkin' at " all thu citty-folk". gollee...
that and some tai chi each day, and a short walk- 1-2 hrs really did me good to get out-
talk about cabin fever.
did me some good to experience that isolation,I suppose, but the sun on my face feels pretty darn good.
take care all,
Rod
