Fever & Ice

A quick updtate from the McBertke household. Mom is feeling better and has gone back to work so the little children are happy again and willing to learn. Tom has taken on Mom's horrible cold/fever/nausea/ thing from last week and has spent the last two days on the couch. He's not doing too well.

Saturday night Mom and I went to see the Celebration on Ice at the Sudbury Arena like the cheesy skating fan-girls that we are. Totally amazing! Kurt Browning, Elvis Stoijko (who we've never seen live!), Brian Orser, Shae-Lyn Bourne and more. There was a set of skating acrobats from the Ukraine that did these incredible lifts and flipping tricks. It was like Cirque de Soleil on ice. And there was another duo who used all kinds of props (hula hoops, pipe cubes, neck harnesses) to do death defying throws, lifts and tricks. It was spectacular. I've never seen anything like it before. Mom said it was a Vegas show on ice - that outlandish. And then, there wad Jeffrey Buttle! The new Canadian men's champ, on his way to Moscow for the world championships and we got to see him! Standing Ovation all around for the home town boy.
